‘Seek to Excel’ is the motto of MES Teachers College. The college was established in 1958. The first principal of the college was Prof. K.V. Doreswamy. Thereafter the institution was led by Prof. C. Rangachar, Prof. C.L. Gopinath Rao, Prof. M.R. Srinivasa Rao, Prof. Shanta A Diwakar, Prof. A.N. Vijaya Murthy, Prof. G.S. Suryanarayana, Dr. H.S. Ganesha Bhatta, Prof. B.R. Gopal and Smt. P. Mythili Raju were the principals of the college.
A good education is the basic foundation required to produce worthy and dynamic teachers who can contribute well to the progress of the nation and the world at large. Through its academic raining, the college aims at inculcating the high ideas like virtues of industry. Self-sacrifice, service, honesty, godliness and the high ideals handed over to us as the precious cultural heritage of this great land. Students are encouraged to achieve purity of thought, word and deed through self-discipline.
The campus is located at Rajajinagar, Bengaluru which is 5Km way from Vidhana Soudha and has a serene scenic landscape. M.E.S. Teachers College was assessed and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council at ‘A’ level in the year 2005. Re-Accreditation by NAAC in 2015 with CGPA 3.19 Grade “A”. The college celebrated its Golden Jubilee during the years 2009 and 2010.
MES Teachers College successfully ran the B.Ed programme for 6 decades. The last batch of B.Ed students passed out in the year 2020. The B.Ed programme is discontinued since 2020
The Management is in the process of repurposing MES Teachers College into a teacher training institute which will provide new programmes aligned with NEP as well as conduct in house orientation and training for teachers.
As a first step MES Teachers College is offering a 6 months diploma in Foundational Stage Covering Early Child Care Education (ECCE) in collaboration with Centre for Economic and Social Science (CESS).

As you all know MES Teachers College has always strived hard to prepare quality teachers for the society. With this initiative of training teachers for ‘Foundational Stage’ Mysore Education Society has begun a new journey and I am sure that students and parents in the community are going to receive it well as this course is in alignment with NEP-2020.
There are various ‘Nursery Teachers Training’ centers in Karnataka. Our certificate course differs from these NTT course in many ways. With this teacher training course, student will be eligible to teach upto 2nd std. Enriched experiences with respect to content and pedagogy is the strength of this course.
